How It Started
Before photography became something serious to me, I mostly just enjoyed taking pictures on my phone whenever something looked cool. Eventually, I started getting more interested in cameras, so I asked my parents about it. My dad mentioned we still had an older Canon Rebel EOS from years ago, so we got a new battery for it and I started bringing it everywhere with me, learning as I went.
As I became more interested in sports photography, I decided to upgrade to a Nikon setup so I could take things further. From there, everything started to click. Week by week, I found myself learning new editing styles, understanding timing and lighting better, and developing my own creative approach behind the camera.
Why Sports Photography
Sports photography stands out to me because no two moments are ever the same. Everything happens fast, and there’s only a split second to frame something the right way. That challenge is what makes it exciting.
Being around athletics for most of my life also gives me a different perspective when I’m shooting. I already understand the pace, intensity, and small details of the game, which helps me create images that feel natural instead of forced.
What's Next
This summer, I’m planning to continue building my portfolio by shooting more games, creating cinematic edits, and working on improving both my photography and video work. I’m also hoping to expand into opportunities involving travel baseball, collegiate leagues, and other sports environments that allow me to keep gaining experience.
Looking ahead, I want to continue growing creatively while working around athletics at Creighton and beyond. My goal is to keep developing a style that feels modern, energetic, and recognizable while continuing to push myself with new projects, athletes, and creative ideas.
